Bankia provides an Authentication Service on secure retail purchases for free, with the aim of increasing security levels on purchases made over the internet with our cards.

Under this system, every time that the tiltleholder of a Bankia card undertakes a secure purchase on the Internet, identified as "Verified by VISA" or "MasterCard SecureCode", the system will request authentification (identification) in order to continue with the operation.

Each time you use your Bankia card to purchase items on a secure online store, upon payment a webpage shall pop up showing a summary of the purchase details and you will be asked to key in a code in order to gain approval.

This code will be sent via text message to your mobile phone. This code shall be valid for use ONLY ONE TIME and must be keyed into the screen to confirm the purchase and complete the transaction.

It is important that you register your mobile phone number with Bankia in order to use this service.
